West Fest

Surprised to not see this mentioned anywhere here.  Did anyone go?  I popped along and saw a couple of great acts, including local band Cats On Ladders (terrible name, but really lovely music) and while I came back to see a band called Manouche, they'd moved everything inside and the upstairs room of the Station House was broiling.  The band sounded fun but there were nly about eight of us there, stewing uncomfortably  I hope they do it again -- I understand they will -- I thought it was a great addition to Acton.

The council refused permission for any o the side roads to be closed - which was why more of it was indoors than intended.I couldn't go but Filip at the Rocket said it was heavin there and he ran out of beer an ice (publican definition of a good day)Andor is doing an amazing job with these events - and it brings in a whole new crowd too.

My daughter went with some friends and said really great fun and good music.  Tracey at the Station House said they were exceptionally busy too.Seems like a great addition to Acton.

I think there is one planned for September - with a road closure so more space.Apparently the head of housing and regeneration is very pro the use of road closure to facilitate community use of space.
