Bin day scavenger

Last Wednesday morning there was what I can only describe as Eastern European lady opening going through people's bin bags on Acacia Road and pulling out stuff presumably to keep. Surely that has to be worse than home?

One of the Roma people being interviewed when they were moved off the Park lane centre reservation said that Nothing here was better than nothing back home. If you are used to living on the left overs of society you will do better in a rich society.

A few weeks back,the night before rubbish collection, hubby saw a woman with a pushchair on one side of the road and a man with a suitcase on the other side going through all the black bags that had been left out for collection.He shouted at them and they quickly walked off but we presumed this was something they did on a regular basis to see what 'goodies' they could find in others rubbish.We never put anything out until the morning of collection. Perhaps if everyone done the same we woulden't have this sort of scavenging.........

I never said I did object......What i do object to is the mess they left when they were throwing other peoples rubbish on the pavement whilst going through the bags......:)

I don't normally put mine out till the morning but they can be so erratic timing wise that it's safer to put it out the night before. I agree though the way the woman was ransacking the bag I don't think she was going to put it back together tidily, but I didn't hang around to find out. I guess there is no real issue with them scavenging as most of us waste far too much, except if they're going to do it fox-style and leave the contents strewn everywhere.

It the mess they leave ..  Opening food waste . We have had rats recently . Also these guys are big into identity theft as Kevin points out . Forget the doing good . I work in fraud and its massive . Lets get real on this and the reason why they are going through our bins

If these people are coming on to your property without your permission presumably they are trespassing.  Call the police.
