Leamington Park/Horn Lane Plan C

It is tied up with the TFL re-design of Gipsy Corner, the last I heard they are doing extensive computer traffic simulations to help decide on the best plan.TFL want to re-configure the traffic lanes to provide separate lanes leading to the A40 westbound and Park Royal Road.I suggested that they should admit that Leamington Park is a small section of a very large one way / gyratory system, so should take precedence over Horn Lane. Remove the extended centre island towards the A40, put a yellow box at the Leamington Park junction, and allow Leamington Park traffic to enter the correct lanes and clear the way for Horn Lane traffic. If they get it right they could remove the bus lane, together with rush hour queues that tail back to the Uxbridge Road.

HGVs need space to turn right to the A40 eastbound, and TFL have proposed two right turn lanes at the junction.The traffic lights at Wales Farm Road tend to break up the Leamington Park traffic into short bursts heading left or right. I suggested that the majority of traffic turning right from Leamington Park is trying to reach either Park Royal Road or Victoria Road, while traffic from Horn Lane tends to split fairly equally between the four possible routes. This may vary according to time of day, and TFL have been doing research to check and then try to choose the best option.
