British Prehistory Archaeology Workshop for Adults
A practical one day course providing an opportunity to handle stone and metal artefacts from Prehistoric Britain using Gunnersbury Park Museum’s archaeological collections.The morning will be devoted to stone and flint tools, giving an opportunity to study genuine prehistoric tools from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic, and linking it to stages in human evolution where appropriate. The afternoon will focus on the development of metalworking in the Bronze Age through to the end of the Iron Age. Handouts and a reading list will accompany the handling sessions.
