Telephone debit/credit card fraud
There is a fraud happening locally involving getting a phone call to say that your debit or credit card has been compromised. They then tell you to ring your bank. You end the call, but they don't, keeping the line open for a few minutes. You dial the bank, but are in fact still connected to them. They pretend to be your bank and say they are sending a courier to pick up your cards and pin numbers. See this news item for more detail http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22513041.To be sure that you actually are ringing your bank, use a mobile phone or make sure you have a dial tone.
