Plane noise

Has anyone else noticed an increase in plane noise around Horn Lane? I have never heard any planes before in my 18 months of living here and for the past week it seems I am directly under a flight path!

You are, I'm afraid. We get the planes taking off from LHR for a couple of hours here or there (sometimes more often). In my experience, it then depends on the cloud cover how noisy it gets.

You MUST complain. Oh, and "a third runway will not result in any significant increase in aircraft noise." It's got a lot (everything) to do with wind direction and the need for aircraft to land or take-off into certain directional winds.And we've had an amount of Easterly winds recently which always results in more aircraft flying over Acton and despoiling our tranquillity.http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743

Flights do seem to be slightly off their usual course for the last few days, coming closer to my house than normal. Hope the winds soon change.

Thanks everyone. It has me quite confused. I understand that we are more prone to noise if there is an easterly wind, but honestly I have never heard any noise for the past 18months and now its constant!  Good money for double glazing firms !
