FISH MAN/WOMAN

Hi Everyone! Does anyone know of any fish delivery man/woman or a good local (east acton/acton central) fish store? I would love to hear your recommendations! I remember a guy in a truck going around east acton and he had fantastic fish but I don't see him anymore...

I have most certainly bought very fresh and yummy fish from the shop oppoosite the council car park on Churchfield close to the PO. If you want to stray away further, there is another great place opposite Ealing Common tube.

Have they removed the mattress that was propped up against the wall inside the shop, covered with a sheet? (This was in the Churfield shop). I found that quite off putting and it is the reason I have never been in.

I know it's a little bit further still, but the fish shop in Golborne Road, W.10, is something else.It's worth going there just to see the display alone !!Closed on Mondays though.

ALL good fish shops are closed Mondays - its one way of sussing out whether the fish is fresh. Given fisherman don't usually fish/land on Sundays, fresh fish and fish & chip shops are traditionally closed Monday.That aside, Morrisons has a surprisingly good fish counter

Have seen van selling fish in Lynton Road on several occasions - sorry, never noticed name but perhaps someone in the road can help.

Grimsby fish van seems to be very popular on Lynton road.

Try the wet fish shop on the south side of Harlesden High Street, about 100 yards east of Jubilee Clock. A 266 bus from Acton will get you there or you could get a one stop train journey from Acton central to Willesden Junction and walk up Station Road and turn right past the Clock. It has a huge display of fish.
