Gowing & Pursey

Just reading that Gowing & Pursey have said they will be moving in the next 12 months. Yipee!The racket their vehicles make from going up and down our road I will not miss at all.

I'll believe it when the last truck leaves, all the signs taken down, and the keys and Operator's Licence are handed back and the yard left locked up.Saying they "intend" to leave over the next 12 months arguably gives them a nice respite from any ongoing pressure to comply with the full Terms of their Licence wrt the pollution control measures.Sorry, but when it comes to The Horn Lane Industrial Estate and its denizens, you HAVE to be cynical.............

It is certainly very good news. However, I would like to know where there new site in Park Royal is intended to be? The residents in the streets surrounding the industrial estate will be concerned to learn that there might be approval for a known pollutant to move close to their houses. The real answer is for the whole site to move much further from densely populated Acton.

Read the item from His Ealing leadership? Will be good to see how much pollution levels will come down AFTER G&P have gone... i.e. nothing is going to happen in the meantime... Endless months wasted - again... By then, the site has been promised to another successful pocket liner, for sure...

"Gowing and Pursey are hoping to move from Horn Lane within the next twelve months." is a looooooooooong way from "We are definitely moving and have committed, we've given written, formal notice to the landlord Network Rail and The Environment Agency.""Hoping" is not an encouraging word.
