St. Mary's Burial Ground - Bulb Planting Day This Saturday

Please come and join the Friends of St. Mary's Burial Ground for the annual bulb planting day this Saturday, October 19. We will be planting from 1.30-4pm. If you can, please bring bulbs and a trowel, but if not, we'll have some supplies.It's a good event for all the family and you look forward to enjoying this lovely green space next spring when the bulbs are in flower. Hope to see you there - lets give those Oaks developers another example of the great community spirit in Acton...

Have bought Morrisons bulbs - astonishingly cheap but no more are coming in after the current stock.But it's raining and I might melt.

I wonder if someone could check with the Rector who spoke so well at Wednesday night's infamous Planning Committee Meeting as to who owns the Burial Grounds Victorian Wall, which the developers want to demolish?If the Rector owns it (on behalf of his Church), precisely what right have outside developers to destroy it?

Exactly what I asked him this morning: unfortunately the church doesn't own the wall so it can be demolished (and replaced with railings, apparently). However a case could be made that workmen set one foot in the burial ground at their peril, because the development will not have access to that...

The daffodils and other flowering bulbs are looking wonderful in the churchyard in the sunshine today.Do go and have a look..Three cheers for Camilla for organising to make it look so pretty
