Cafe Oak Tree

There is a new Cafe right next to Acton Central Station which must have opened last week (Cafe Oak Tree)I stumbled over that place yesterday and was surprised how beautifully decorated, modern and stylish this is after the previous owners. Their coffee is great, their food is delicious and the owner is a very lovely gentleman.Why not visit him one day? I dare to say this is the best coffee in the area (finally!!)

Definitely recommend this place. The best coffee I've had in Acton and the guy working there is great.I'm changing my commute, which means a slightly longer journey, for that reason alone!

The best coffee in Acton is Acton Town tube station coffee shop, OMG outside the boundaries of Churchfield Road, how could that be? ;)

Blimey, that's getting pretty tiresome now Gary...It just happens to be that a significant proportion of posters on here live near Churchfield and like the shops on it. Nobody's saying you can only talk about Churchfield road!As it happens my usual commute used to be via Acton Town and I've tried every coffee shop along the way but not really enjoyed any of them, including the Sicilian place outside the station (which has pretty awful customer service to boot)

Well now you know how many people feel, tired of reading about how wonderful churchfield road is, thats why there is some surprising support for the Oaks proposals, its a perverse but enjoyable backlash against percieved elitism

Gary why do you perceive those living in and around Churchfield Rd as elite?I just do not understand why you complain about people banging on about Churchfield Rd,  this is an open forum and if lots of people wanted to post about another area in Acton they can,  no one is stopping them.

How exactly does complaining about people discussing the area around Churchfield Road achieve anything?I'm not sure you've thought this through!

Seems to me Gary Sinclair has some sour grapes about Churchfield Road - its a lovely road that is really flourishing. Having lived just off it for 28 years, its great to see it transform in the last few years and that locals take an active interest in their community.

I still love Coffee etc but suspect it won't survive. As for Gary - I find his posts amusing and suspect he has much fun winding some of you up!  As is often said here - it's an open forum and he's also entitled to his opinion.

Is one allowed to like BOTH the new cafe at Acton Central AND the Italian one at Acton Town?Cos I do.Some of us lead erratic and unpredictable lives which involve (low be it spoken) many departure points and coffee shops.Also loved the egg bap at Acton Central - though no salt the day I had it. And the cheery service. Coffee good at both places.Anyone have a recommendation for East Acton station coffee? Now there's a challenge.

I spotted a new business today opposite Sainsbury's Homebase on the right as you are about to cross the A40. I think it's called something like Ayisha. Looks really promising.

I think that place has been a bakery and another coffee shop in the last 2 years.  Unfortunately they haven't survived.  I suspect the location doesn't help.  Not good for drivers or pedestrians.  Interestingly, the fishing tackle shop around the corner and the electrical repair shop next door to the coffee shop have been around for years.
