Walking the Thames Path
The second walk (Tower Bridge to the Thames Barrier, north side of the river) took place on Sunday 20th October. Five of us gathered in Starbucks in St. Katherine's dock, the only coffee shop we could guarantee open early on Sunday morning. The rain cleared and we walked in sunshine to Greenwich and lunched outside congratulating each other on our ability to get out of bed. Two of our number had only wanted to walk part of the way, so the remaining three of us walked on to the Thames Barrier where the rain returned. We loved the industrial busyness of the river on this stretch and marveled at the number of good looking blocks of flats which did not seem to be occupied at weekends. Great views of the City and Pamela took some photos which I will try to put up for your interest. The next two walks will be Kew Bridge to Richmond Lock and return, and Battersea Bridge to London Bridge and return. All welcome, including dogs and children who are willing to walk. There will always be an opportunity to end your walk half way and we will do our best to include nice pubs and/or tea shops in the plan. To understand arrangements for these and future walks you will need to join the Facebook group which has plans, reviews, photos etc. It is closed so pm me for details. See you there.
