Thames Path walking group

We will be setting off for Marlowe this coming Sunday, meeting Ealing Broadway station at 09.30. More detailed information is on the Facebook page which now has 23 members. Photos and comments on the walks are also on the page. Please do join us. Not everyone walks every time and some do part of the walk. Newcomers, children (who are willing) and dogs all very welcome. Contact me for details. What else would you  be doing before lunch on Sunday? PS not teaching my grandmother or anything but you will need good walking boots or shoes and a real waterproof coat. Borrowing the outfit is recommended if you are just trying it out. We will appreciate your company.

That's one of my favourite walks, past Hurley.  The reminder for foul weather gear is fitting as the path along there is likely to be muddy in places.  Some interesting locks along the way to watch, entertaining for adults and children alike.

Kim Thanks for the encouraging note.Does this mean you and yours will venture out on Sunday? About five miles, then lunch at the Bell. What could be nicer?

Today, we took the train from Ealing Broadway to Bourne End and walked to Hurley along the path by the river. This river is quieter, lots of wild fowl and wonderful trees in their Autumn colours. Quite a warm morning for walking so one of us regretted the long johns under the walking trousers. We dined very well in Hurley and then divided into two groups, with one group walking to Marlowe and the other catching a cab to Maidenhead and home by train. A lovely day with good company. Our last walk of the year will be on 3rd December and will we will probably walk in the Cookham area. PM me for details.

You moved to  Tuesday for the last one?Or do you mean the December 1st - the Sunday?Clashes with book group and Hannukah but should justify all the grub at the CCA Xmas party that evening at the Rocket
