another fraud scam

This morning in my inbox a message claiming to be from Paypal saying that a recent transaction has been declined by my credit card and please can you send your bank details so that future payments can be made directly.... blahdibladiblah. Since all my recent purchases have been delivered and I was actually talking to someone at paypal 2 days before, it has got to be an attempt at procuring bank details by deceit.As ever be on your guard. The email was professional looking with logos and similar presentation to a paypal page.

The scam e-mails usually start "Dear PayPal Member.....", where as PayPal will give you a name. The majority of these fraud scams, be they bank, HMRC, Paypal or anyone else start 'Dear Member/Valued Customer ' or else in the case of recent 'HMRC tax refund' just ' Please be advised that one or more Tax Notices (P6, P6B) have been issued.' Real messages from banks/PayPal/HMRC etc will have your name on them.I never click on any links or attachments, especially if the attachment is a 'zip' file, unless the e-mail is personally addressed to me and from someone I am expecting an attachment from! Anything that says 'Dear Customer' or similar gets deleted!

Another scam which I almost answered from Hotmail/outlook.''your email has been accessed from multiple locations please sign in to confirm'' or similar phrase. Identical page to hotmail/outlook ,except the web address was not microsoft/hotmail/outlook.I was surprised it had got thru the phishing filters
