Window Cleaners

They seem to be very rare nowadays but one chap was cleaning windows in our road and quoted £20.00 to clean the windows of a 2 bed semi, providing we have him come every 2 months. Otherwise he would charge £35.00 for a one off clean.Does this sound reasonable? Friends say this seems rather expensive.It's just that I can't clean the upper windows!

35 quid is extortion! It takes him what? 10 mins to do the whole house (badly - they never do the frames)?Get one of those expanding sticks/hose pipe sets for window cleaning upstairs (Ebay, B&Q, you name it), and you'll be laughing!

My window cleaner charges £30 for a semi detached 1930 house with a fully glazed conservatory. No obligations to window clean regularly but he calls every 6 months.He is a small local family business.

Well I compromised and agreed to just have the upstairs windows done for £10.00. At least I can see out nicely now!I can't imagine trying to clean them myself with those long rods, especially as there is a flat roof over the front porch.I once tried to clean them with a hose but I had an unwanted shower instead!

Our window cleaner is marvellous - charges £9 for the front - 5 sash windows but 3 of them very high - victorian town house; for the back as well which = 6 windows plus 12 conservatory panels and a skylight in flat roof, he charges a total (front and back) of £23.
