Find out if there is a market for the brands you are selling by following auctions of similar items you want to sell.My experience is that for High street brands, M&S, Next H&M,...it is more hassle than it's worth for selling this is why vendors will bundle 2,3 skirts together to reduce packaging, ebay fees and hassle, but great bargains to be had if you are buying.I take them to the charity shop or give them to friends.Some brands attract a lot of bidders; Boden, Crocks, anything more designer can do very well.Be season savy, Toys and gifts and party gear can attract silly amounts of bids around Christmas time and no interest in the summer.The post office website has a feature to work out costs of parcels.As a buyer I always include the cost of packaging in the amount and this influence the amount I am prepared to bid.
