Christmas Works 2013 at Acton Yard - Network Rail

Christmas 2013 work at Acton Yard. Find out more at the information session on Tuesday 10 December, 3.30-6.30pm, at St Martin’s Church HallWe are writing to inform you about works at Acton over the Christmas period. We are aware this is an important time of year and would like to invite you to an information session on Tuesday 10 December, 3.30-6.30pm, at St Martin’s Church Hall, Hale Gardens, Acton, W3 9SQ. This will be an opportunity for local residents to get more information on work over Christmas and an update on the project.Over Christmas and New Year, Network Rail is able to work for longer while the trains are not running. At Acton this will allow us to undertake some important, track, overhead line and signalling work. To ensure this is completed on time, we will be working from 22.00 on 24 December until 06.00 on Wednesday 1 January 2014. We will be using a variety of machines over this period and neighbours may hear some construction noise. The below provides a breakdown of the work taking place:Christmas Day and Boxing Day: installation of overhead line equipment, including a new gantry to the east of Noel Road Bridge. Residents may notice machinery on the tracksBoxing Day (from 12.00) until Monday 30 December (12.00): track works to the west of Noel Road Bridge, opposite Oakley Avenue. Work may create some noise.Tuesday 31 December until Wednesday 1 January: overhead line work, which should not create too much noise. We understand that some of these works may cause disruption for neighbours in the vicinity and in accordance with the Crossrail Construction Code, we will endeavour to minimise any unnecessary environmental impacts and ensure those working on site will be briefed on their obligations to work considerately. We would like to thank residents for their patience over the last year. We have had a very productive year on the project, including starting excavation of the eastern section of the diveunder and installing approximately 70 overhead line structures. Next year we will be starting the western section of the diveunder to the west of Noel Road Bridge. If you have any queries, either before or while the work is taking place, please call our dedicated 24-hour National Helpline on 08457 11 41 41 or e-mail crwest@networkrail.co.uk. Should you wish to learn more about Crossrail, please visit www.crossrail.co.uk.In the meantime, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.Yours faithfully,Olivia WhiteCommunications ManagerNetwork RailCommunity RelationsKings Place90 York WayLondonN1 9AGTel: 08457 11 41 41
