5 storey development between Acton Central station and park

Hello All,A council team was visiting the site behind Acton Central station (looks like a builders yard) between e station and the park.The plan is for a 5 storey building.Seems a bit high to me but has anyone reviewed in detail?I presume that the vote is very soon.

I don't know enough about it to consider speaking.I just found it on their sitehttp://www.pam.ealing.gov.uk/portal/servlets/ApplicationSearchServlet?PKID=158272and I can see that the consultation document went to a lot of people so I assume that there is not much opposition to it by those most affected or there would have been more discussion here and posters near the station and park entrance.

I don't remember being very exercised about it - it is unused land right by the railway station. I do wonder why someone would want to live there - but that's not really my business...

Presumably there will be no provision for car parking - the thought of cars leaving this site en masse mext to the level crossing is surely a serious accident waiting to happen?

Was there not talk of a school there at some point.it's not the first time it has had proposals.

I cant recall a school Kim - there have certainly been proposals before - I think the last one was housing....some time ago.

" the thought of cars leaving this site en masse mext to the level crossing is surely a serious accident waiting to happen?  "Why would cars be leaving the site 'en masse'.  Since the crossing barrier lowers every 10-15 for trains passing north or south, and the traffic has to stop at the barrier lights, I can't see why the site should be prone to serious accidents.

Workers leave home at roughly the same time am and return pm at roughly the same time.........  As they do in in most streets where there are people to go to work.Cars often drive through the barriers when the lights are flashing, as do cyclists (and pedestrians) - I'll leave the consequences to your imagination.

I'm with you Fred - only one car at a time can leave the site. The barriers seem to be down ALL THE TIME. (My son said they were five of the last six times he approached them recently)So I would have thought added congestion, though often true in developments, would be less likely here than in most.

Thanks Sara.  Dee, more cars turn left from Goldsmith Road to cross the crossing, than will ever leave the site next to the station.  Cars exit Goldsmith Road and take a right as well.

There won't be an en masse movement of cars ... the plans have only 2 car parking spaces. 32 bike parking places though.

These will be highly sought after flats ... Obviously great for transport and beautiful views over the park . Hopefully will bring some more affluent owners to the area which will improve the local business profits .There's a real shortage of homes and adding more to the housing stock can only be welcomed .

Assuming you are on the right side - the tracks side might be a tad noisy...and won't the place vibrate a bit when the goods trains go through?Still, caveat emptor and all that...

Surprisingly, despite living two roads over from this site we have heard absolutely nothing about this development, I stumbled across this thread totally accidentally.Does anyone know what the decision on this proposal was? I tried to look on the portal but it just says something about the legal agreement pending. Five storeys seems overly high for this - I remember a few years ago before the recession there were plans for flats but they were only two/three storeys high.Also, it seems a particularly small site for such a considerable development - I assume that it will be just in the little yard bit and not extend into the park in any way?

Don't know much about it - but I am sure it doesn't extend into the park. It's not a big site
