Feilds Churchfeild road

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you haven't tried it already then make it your new years resolution to at least go once I promise you, you wont be disappointed and will keep going back. To start with the food is always amazing from the cheese and tomato sandwiches to the steak, lamb shank and amazing breakfasts not to mention amazing meatballs all freshly prepared on site.The coffee tea and drinks selection are always done perfectly and as for the cakes they are to die for there is always a lovely selection from red velvet cake, cupcakes, carrot cake and custard tarts which are a personal favourite of mine and my daughter.The management and staff at fields are some of the best if not the best I have experienced, The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly and to be honest no matter what I write about them on here I would never be able to do it justice.  they are a family in every sense of the word and you would be crazy not to try them.

Another vote for Field's. Support your local coffee shop! Coffee is much better than Costa and much hotter! Food is lovely and the welcome from the management and staff is very warm and friendly.

I wonder if the management would be interested in the "suspended coffee" idea.What do regular customers think?

We could always ask them I'd be happy to do it granted I can't do 3 extra but I'd do 1 when money permits  me to after all no one should be left wi though the basics in today's society and after all churchfiel road is becoming more of a community its only wright we support those in our community less fortunate x

How does the suspended coffee thing actually work? I get the buy a coffee and suspend one bit but how does it work for the businesses? I am not trying to be negative but how are these suspended coffees handed out?  I cannot see it being good for business having homeless people hanging around all the time. It's an interesting idea, I just can't see businesses falling over themselves to adopt it. Times are tough, I can't imagine them wanting to upset existing customers.

So a paying customer comes in and asks for a coffee for themselves and then one or two "suspended". You take their money and record that you have two "suspended" coffees.When someone comes in and asks for a free coffee (it must happen all the time - it certainly does down the other end, the chap in Cafe Oak Tree tells me) you give him one if there is any credit. If there isn't, you just say so.It should be positively good for local businesses as you get more coffees - or whatever - paid for. If you don't want the homeless "hanging about" you could always do it take-away only.You can print a sign from the suspended coffee website - quite discreet - which says you are a supporter and I think they aim to have window stickers soon. I've read quite a bit about it now and no-one has said there has been a problem with people hanging about and upsetting regular customers.
