Carl Calm down - a little comedy. You are just way too sensitive. Of course there are gang throughout London and my comparison in selecting Hackney was maybe unjust to that borough but I stand by my comments that Hackney has many more attractions than the wasteland of North Acton. Great pantomime at the Hackney Empire, the flower market, the food market of Broadway market, many cool bars / restaurants and art galleries.Carl I am happy to stand corrected if you can point out the reasons why I or anyone should visit North Acton vs Hackney ?Maire I find your conspiracy theories hilarious. Not sure who this Colin is but I am really me. I work full time so only dip in and out of here when I have some spare time and not to inflame or when the commentary gets dull as you suggest.I have pulled back from writing as I realise unless you follow the Maire view you will get a hurl of abuse. Most of my Acton neighbours and contemporaries don't use this for that reason.Why do I live here - simply because I could buy a big Victorian house to gut and renovate for considerably cheaper than the surrounding area (and you must ask why the price differential ). The Cross rail effect can’t do any harm on house prices either. However I did hope that the " up and coming Acton " would provide more in the way of social activities and opportunity to stay local but apart from the odd glimmers of hope (Park and Bridge, Pearls, the bakery, great florist to name a few) there still remains little else .It may suit some but I want a little more life, less larger cans and dog mess on the streets ( and I do clear it up not just complain ) and the sense of community in Kew where I previously lived was just the same as I find in Acton. Neighbours great in both places. Acton should be more vibrant – I think it is the demographics. Bedsit land and older families who go out less and fewer younger affluent people or couples .It a real pity as some amazing houses . It’s all just a bit unloved and forgotten . And yes Carl it hasn’t worked out for me and I will move on
