My 11 yr old son's bag containing birthday presents taken. Acton Park

Today was my sons 11th birthday party. We met up with friends in Acton Park's playground and he took with him his bright yellow string rucksack containing presents ( including new wallet containing £40 from his grandparents, the most money he's ever had. And his shiny new Zip card which he had proudly put in the wallet this morning) He is totally heartbroken at the loss of his presents and it has really blighted the poor boys birthday.. He has been sobbing all evening.Please, please. If anyone sees a yellow string bag with the logo "Pilgrims pack" on it would you kindly let me know.Many thanks

Have you reported it to the police? And asked at the children's' centre?Sounds rotten...

Hi Sara. My friend reported it to the children's  centre. I haven't reported it to the police yet but will in the morning. So sad that it happened today of all days. Ordinarily anyone nicking his bag would find themselves richer to the tune of a greasy half a sandwich and an empty crisp packet. .

And even if he doesn't - balancing one toe-rag against all the support  here and CW4, still tilts the balance in favour of generally good people...A good 20 years ago, our then nanny was mugged for her bag in Acton Park - which was horrid. But two people gave chase, someone in a house opposite called the police - having seen bag thrown into bushes. It was waiting for her at the police station an hour later. Scum 1, good people 3

Re CW4.  Some scum bag stole a charity box and an employees purse from a book shop on CHR.  The response from those Chiswick types, donated more than was stolen.  Well done Pete and Andy.

I completely agree Nikki. I don't really have the words to adequately express how I am feeling. I just feel so amazed and grateful that people like yourself and Andy & Pete have shown such kindness to my son. Today we went to the park again to put up some posters and one of his friends said "Wow. Yesterday I thought human beings were horrible. Now I think they're amazing" And I think that sums up how we are all feeling today.

Clare, I've just read the outcome of the sad case of your son's missing bag. A pleasant outcome from the generous folk of Acton. I've always thought there's a lot of kind-hearted people in sunny Acton.
