Doesn't anybody care?

The telephone box in Horn Lane outside Horn Lane Surgery has been cordoned off by tape since Friday 17 January due to the fact that someone decided to use the telephone box as a toilet!I reported this to Streetwatchers but they said it would be the responsibility of British Telecom.This was also reported on Fixmystreet website.I then decided to contact BT with all the details. Today I received a telephone call from BT and the caller had the cheek to say I should take down a telephone number to report the problem. I said that I have reported the matter to them and it is for BT to deal with it. Flaming cheek!The telephone box is still cordoned off would you believe?

Sorry Jean. I do care. While the numbers of wee'd in phone boxes have gone down in recent years, it is unpleasant to have to step in one. Perhaps BT have outsourced the cleaning and maintenance of these boxes? What telephone number did they give you?

Thanks Marie, After taking the trouble of  completing a form for BT on the internet I would have assumed that they would take action and have their telephone box cleaned so you can imagine how annoyed I was to get a call from BT telling me that I must note down a telephone number and report this!As far as I am concerned I spent enough time conacting Streetwatchers, then fixmystreet.com and finally BT directly. I do not use the telephone box myself but thought that BT might like to have the phone box brougbt back I to use for those who might need to make a call.I told the person from BT that the matter was now up to them as I had provided all the relevant I formation. I do not work for BT.It just goes to show how frustrating reporting this sort of thing can be

No...nobody cares these days . One can seldom get a response to the  most basic request. Practically impossible to talk to a PERSON. Just have to leave messages in voice mail , Loathsome things . Sadly the norm in this day and age.

Well Beryl, I am pleased to report that the telephone box was eventually cleaned and is now back in use but it was frustrating trying to get someone to take action!
