Why can't I persuade the council to pick up missed recycling collection?

The paper and food guys missed me last Thursday... I saw them approaching as I left home in the morning.When I returned it was all still there - so I emailed Streetwatchers.The reply - early Friday said they couldn't pick up before Monday (can't really see why not!) Blow me, Monday came and went and no sign of any action.I bet they say today that it's not worth coming till Thursday now.Really a rubbish service...

I am meticulous about putting all my recycling out together on front path. I have emailed the council about missed collection of food box or garden waste a number of times with promised pick up the following day. When it has not been collected the following day I have telephoned them and discovered the refuse collectors have claimed it was never there for them to collect in the first place. A blatant lie. Just a reminder the garden waste collection starts again tomorrow after the Christmas break.

It was picked up today while I was at work. Thank goodness.I find a post here or on twitter rather effective
