Market Place Post office

This seems to be getting worse than ever.  Today, a wait of almost half an hour, last week 20 minutes.  Only two desks staffed, and the very smart man prowling round trying to sell insurance etc couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it.  I've complained to Royal Mail, who will probably take no notice.  Anything else we can do?

Sorry not sure the link has worked. Search for Post Office and you will find a thread I started called I nearly started a riot in the Post Office!

When I remonstrated with said prowling useless manager recently, he said rather crassly that if he didn't there might not be a Post office in Acton!!

Just wanted to say that Royal Mail won't be able to help, they're now completely separate from the Post Office so it'd be worth redirecting your complaint

Talk about having a captive audiece!I told the guy off in the past, if we wanted insurance we would do something about it not wait to be harrassed whilst waiting to post a letter!They just don't get it, do they?

There's nothing crass about it. For the Post Office to survive it can't rely solely on selling stamps - it needs to sell other products, which it therefore needs to promote.

There's promotion and there's promotion!I don't really believe for one minute that a lack of ancilliary sales would lead to the closure of Acton PO.

Chiswick Post Office (which has had a lot of detractors over the years on the sister W4 web site for poor service standards) is being shut down for most of February to undergo a major refurbishment and upgrade which seems part of a larger major national project.Maybe similar plan for Acton will follow + also likely to see even more business as Chiswick people have to look elsewhere for next three/four weeks?
