Well done to Acton Central on winning Overground station of the year!

The team so deserves it for the great planting and cheery smiles amd stability. And for their consistent support of the churchfield community association book swap which I started just before the Olympics. Nearly two years on, over three thousand books and loads of help from Michael, Colin and all the station chaps...Wouldn't it be great if the other LOROL stations had plant pots, book swaps and a jolly community-focused atmosphere ?

But it would have been very wearing without their positive vibes and support.Tfl are always worried that people will throw books and/or bookcase on to the tracks. Our chaps - and LOROL are much more sensible

As well as making the station look welcoming they go the extra mile helping passengers especially when travelling with children as they hold the gates open so no one has to rush through. They also give advice generously on the best kind of ticket for your journey rather than make it feel like they are doing you a massive favour. Well done on the award. Always lovely to come home to Acton on the overground.
