My personal favourite is Pintos in the High Street (number 46). Wonderful Thai food. Also North China (305 Uxbridge Road)for Chinese.

Agree with Pintos and North China. Also Thai Nice, the Rocket and L'Orientale.

The Station House, The Chatsworth, Pintos, Thai Nice and L'Oriental. All good in my opinion.

Also Anokha for straight-forward IndianNorth China the tops! Persian Nights on the Uxbridge Road if you like kebab-y things. L'Oriental for LebaneseRocket for good pub and nearby...Further afield: Anglesea Arms near Ravenscourt Park, La Trompette - Chiswick - for major celebrations and Glasshouse at Kew (on Overground) for nearly as good. Sam's Brasserie in Chiswick is great too.Gone a blank on the brilliant vegetarian in Hammersmith - in a converted church...

The veggie place in Hammersmith is: The Gate.Agree with Sara. It is excellent. My fave place would be Charlotte's place which is at the side of Ealing Common. Not Acton but close enough.Welcome to Acton!: )

That's The Gate in Hammersmith for vegetarian

Of course! Silly me. Been there loads but it was closed for refurb for about a year so forgot...it has a twin in Islington or some such.

St john road in Islington hosts the other branch of the gate .it however isn't nearly as atmospheric as the original in Hammersmith Btw Thai Nice is great as is the indian on Churchfield road. Otherwise Chiswick and places previously mentioned your best options and I like the Chamberlayne in Kensal Rise for good steaks in a great atmosphere

There are several Indians on Churchfield Road. Do you mean Anokha near the Rocket, or Taj- the new one down the other end? I think there are others too...
Apologies I meant the Anokha - not tried any of the others
Station House is really good too. Fab Southern Italian tapas and pizzas!Lavelli good for a light lunch and wonderful coffee. And there's Cupcake Avenue for coffee and cupcakes! Enjoy Acton :)

Demographics of Acton are changing and we are crying out for a decent local eatery to add to the current mix.Somewhere for a casual lunch ,take the family too , Sat night to linger ... More often it's Chiswick or other surrounding areas to meet our needs . Compared to surrounding area we are poorly off .Someone take the risk there is business here !!!

The people who run the wine shop in churchfield road told me they really wanted to open a shop with a winebar and serve small plates of food but couldn't find anywhere suitable.

There is a new café in Acton, Ciambelli's I think, which does light lunches, great coffee run by Gabriellla. It's opposite the police station.Cheers,HYvonne

Went to Sam's Brasserie in Chiswick today for brunch. It was fab - especially the desserts and the staff. And it was full of charming, well-behaved and quiet children. We marvelled.
