YupNot only from West London - but his next project is a TV drama about "growng up in West London" (More Ealing than Acton I reckon and if his Wikipedia entry is anything to go by I'm guessing its going to be about race, class an opportunity along the A4)

I put this on the Film 2013 thread: an interesting interview with him a few weeks ago in the Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/jan/04/steve-mcqueen-my-painful-childhood-shame revealed he went to school in Ealing (Drayton Manor I believe) and was subjected to institutional racism while he was there, as later admitted by the new head of the school when he returned for a prize giving.
