At guess where?99p shop!That makes them by far the cheapest locally, 11p eachAnd no, I have connections to this establishment.

Wasn't the term 'free range' re-defined as 'not from battery farmed hens'. Still caged,  rather than, 'free range to run around on their own free will.

At least the 99p shop HAS eggs.Morrisons, a major supermarket chain, managed to not only run out on Saturday, then put chocolates on the shelves instead. then not realise the supplier just hadn't delivered them at all that day (not apparently noticed til the evening!) and then do nothing about it.There were staqgered people wandering around exclaiming (in many languages) "What sort of supermarket doesn't stock eggs?"

Sarah, is your mum still impressed with Morrison?I think of a supermarket as somewhere I can get everything under one roof, but too often I leave Morrison having to go to another shop for items such as coffee or lemons.Once in the middle of the day the veg section was bare save for a couple of leeks and a head of broccoli.I will be curious to see if the good folk of Ealing will put up with that or if Morrison runs that store properly

There were very few eggs in Morrison's on Friday, so it would seem the supplier hadn't delivered then either. Also there was very little in the freezers - I wanted some Scampi - but the freezers that usually have fish etc. in them were empty. I did find some in another freezer with 'special offer' items, but there was no indication that the freezers had broken down - they were just empty. Another problem was the upright freezers had no lights in them - so you had to open the doors to see what was inside - letting warm air into the freezer unnecessarily.They must be suffering from a lack of staff - the basket piles at the entrance are often empty and on Friday the manager was sweeping the floor!I think someone somewhere has lost the plot - a supermarket needs to have ample stock and staff to meet the supply and demand of its customers. Morrison's has neither.

I did like the clearer aisles on Saturday especially at the 'barriered' entrance (why?) just past the newspaper section.  Usually this is a terrible bottle neck.  I mentioned this to a member of staff but not sure he had enough English to understand me.  This shop needs to be less cluttered so we can get round easily.  It is also more appealing with more open space.

I agree, Sally.  It was lovely to have such a wide open space at the entrance to the fruit & veg.
