new gym opening delayed

So annoying!They assured us it would open on time - had brought it forward a week - now I have resigned from my current gym - from April 8th. You have to give a month's notice.So what do I do in the interim?Still in serious training for old school reunion on May 10th.

Popped, crossly, into the Marketing place on the High Street, where the sort-of plausible young man told me the gym would actually be opening only a few days late but the formal opening of the whole thing had been put back. So it may not be a disaster...Unlike the name which is ghastly and makes no mention of the Town Hall at all!

Yes I popped in as well and said they should put something on this forum to clarify. The young woman I spoke to also said they would be writing to everyone who has signed up to explain.

Chris,The Conservatives undertook a similar project to replace the old Northolt Swimarama with the Northolt Leisure Centre.  It opened on 30th January 2010 a full three months before the elections - not that it did us any good apparently!  Cllr Bell himself confirms that it was the Conservatives that kicked the Acton project off in 2010 by allocating £12 million in our last capital budget before leaving office.  We are sorry to see the project slipping and look forward to seeing it opened soon.

Acton Town Hall - though they are refusing to call it that and have given it some crap modern name.Supposed to have 100 gym stations, classes and swimming pools but don't seem able to commit to an actual opening date - in spite of promising the 12th and then the 5th April. And NO communication about the cock-up with people who have already signed up. Which is pretty basic really.

Just had a letter apologising for the delay, saying they hope to be open from mid April and will charge us via our direct debits from April 20th, though taking the pro rata payment on April 1st.

In response to an email of mine, I'm told today that classes are expected to start the week beginning April 14th and that members will be able to book a week in advance. Seems I have to go back to the membership shop to get my pin/password/whatever, though. Couldn't they have given me that with my membership card?

Yes that is annoying, they should give it to you when you sign up. I also got my letter yesterday but no date given for pool opening as yet, so sticking with Virgin for the time being.

I got one of those irritating promotional emails this morning - offering me a free entrance for a friend - but nada/zilch/rien about when it's actually opening - which seems poor judgment to me.I wrote something back  rather shirtily but naturally, no reply.Given Frankie and his colleagues read this forum, you'd think they would have thought up something to say by now.
