Phantom work on Acton High Street??

I cannot seem to see any work being done on Acton High Street to necessitate the bus stop outside McDonalds and the traffic lights being out of use. The only change I can see with the roundabout by Horn Lane are some plants in the middle of it.Totally baffled.

Ana,The bus stop outside McDonalds and the one on the opposite side of the road have been moved because they have put a mini roundabout at the junction of Market Place/Church Road/High Street. The traffic lights here are no longer in use because of the roundabout!So, there are TWO new roundabouts, not just one. They have also changed the lights at the junction of Gunnersbury Lane, traffic can now not turn left from Gunnersbury Lane towards Ealing, and traffic cannot turn into Gunnersbury Lane coming from Ealing - it has to go round the roundabout.Hope this helps.

where  do  cross  the  road  now  as  you  up  church  rd  a lot  of  people used  that  traffic lights  to  cross  to  morrisons  or  churchfiels  road

Thanks for the update Amanda. I have to say this has not been thought out at all. Will have to find further information about it via council.  The original position of the traffic lights and bus stops are vital. As for the roundabout junction Acton High street/church Road cannot see the advantages of it.

You either have to cross down by The Oaks, walk along to Morrison's and cross there or take a risk and cross at the roundabout - not recommended even though many people do still try and cross there.I don't think the roundabouts have improved the traffic flow at all, and they have made life much harder for pedestrians and bus travellers. The distance between the bus stops going towards Shepherd's Bush/Hammersmith has increased, but going towards Ealing/Brent Cross the two bus stops are only a few yards apart.Ealing Passenger Transport Users' Group campaigned in Ealing to get the Eastbound 607 bus stop re-instated at Christchurch as they said there was too large a gap between the bus stops, but one wonders whether they will take the same view in Acton? The 607 doesn't even stop by Morrison's.
