Anyone else hear that bloody dog?

Does anyone else live in the Maldon Road/Cumberland Park block hear that dog, barking, barking, barking in the early hours of this morning?  It's pretty consistent and very, very annoying.  We hear it a lot, usually between midnight and 3am, and it's obviously kept outside.  This morning it woke me up at about 3am and I didn't get back to sleep. Does anyone know whose it is, or if anything can be done?

Adam,Are you sure it is a dog and not a fox?The foxes make a 'barking' noise that wakes us up sometimes.

Yes something can be done if it happens regularly. You will need the address and a diary note of the dates your sleep was disturbed. Usually you would be expected to try talking to your neighbour to settle things peacefully.The Council has an environmental health department which covers noise. Contact via the website is easiest. If you have any cause to believe the dog is being mistreated, the RSPCA is best. No. Also on website. Good luck

I've no idea where it's coming from, so no address.  I just hear it.  I have no reason to believe it's being mistreated - it doesn't sound distressed, and the barks sound pretty healthy and robust, with no keening or whining that I can discern.

Someone else in you immediate area should be hearing the dog too.If you pm me your address I will ask around. I you could bear to.lean out the window when you are women by the noise you might be able to pinpoint the house.

It's hard to tell - it's usually dark and the sound echoes off the backs of the houses.Sorry to be ignorant, but when you say PM you my address, do you mean my physical address or my email address?

If you are keeping a nuisance diary, consider recording the barking.Foxes are very active at the moment and can set dogs barking frantically as they go about their night activities.
