Hotel in Paris?

We're planning five nights in Paris this Spring and we'd like recommendations for a pleasant hotel for a couple. Quiet, central, clean, good cafe, restaurant, patisserie nearby, short taxi from Gare du Nord. Favour the Marais, Hotel de Ville or side streets off Place de la Republique - reasonably priced. Oh lifts please no stairs. We haven't stayed in Paris for about a decade and don't know the hotel scene. Thanks.

Hotel Britanique at Chatelet...very nice - fulfills all requirementes. Beware of low ceilings in upper rooms.Excellent neighbourhood restaurant round corner.

Thanks Sara - we'd stayed at the Hotel Britannique in the 90s and forgotten its name. I remember it as a pleasant central hotel in a quiet side street - c'est parfait, merci bien, we'll use it again.
