May Elections

With the local and European Parliamentary elections taking place in May, I was wondering whether anybody could direct me to a website which displays a clear and concise breakdown of all the parties and their manifesto's? I know I can visit each party website but I was wondering if anyone knew of any 'compare' type sites that give unbiased and impartial advice? Thanks

Yes, such a website would be very useful - it needs to summarise the salient points of each party manifesto. It would be most helpful I agree.

Unless you have fascist leanings, do not vote UKIP. The CCA (local community association) is hoping to organise a hustings meeting before the elections, where we will invite a representative from all the parties standing (yes, including UKIP!) to come along and answer questions. Fascist leanings? I simply, like many, many other people, think that Mr Farage (mostly) speaks a great deal of sense - basic, common sense.There are a LOT of people who are going to vote UKIP but they're keeping their thoughts to themselves, for "fear" of being battered for having an opinion.If anyone actually cares to LISTEN, to exactly what Mr Farage says, and not interpret and hear what they want to hear from him, he envisages what I would say 80%+ of my friends and acquaintances want!

Mr Farage has publicly stated he admires many of the policies of Marine Le Pen and only tonight one of his "poster boys" has been spouting racist remarks on twitter.

No, you do not vote for UKIP or any other splinter group that just wants to cause chaos because this is openign the door to true extremism.Remember the Weimar Republic that allowed Hitler to come to power? We certainly don't need a repeat of that one in the UK...Yes, many of us are confused/fed up with politics - be it on a national level or locally, but look at the profiles of those standing for election locally - you might find that a person standing for a party you never dreamt voting for has just the right ideas...

The candidates' lists have been published.In Acton Central we have three conservative, three Labour, three LibDem, a Trade Union and one each of Socialist Coalition, UKIP and Green.

Where can I find these please?Remember, there's more to Acton than Acton Central...  Acton park and the Goldsmiths estate are in East Acton, where we are 'blessed' with Kate Crawford and Atallah Said, neither of whom I would be sad to lose.
