Local cinema saved by campaigners
Unfortunately its not the Gala bingo hall (which at one time was a cinema) on Acton High StIt's the Bexhill Playhouse which opened in 1921. It was due to be demolished or turned into flats and offices. But local campaigners have raised enough money to reopen it as a 2 screen cinema.Pity we couldn't have done something similar. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-26642041
