New cheaper Morrisons? Selling out of date Pizza...YEH

Decided to buy a meat feast pizza today, but was unable to read the use by date until I got home.  Today is the 13th, pizza, use by 12th.  Not the first time Morrisons have sold out of date products at full price.Signs up saying Welcome to new cheaper Morrisons.  Leaves a lot to be desired.  Beef and lamb are exempt, and the prices up.  Cheaper to buy from Tim our friendly butcher.Solution...back to Asda for essentials and Tim for meat, and of course sausages.

What about items in the 'I  m chaper range' .I worry that  produce will also be near the end of it s sell by date.They will have to do better than out of date pizza to compete with Lidl.

The last time I went in, it was so cheap, it was free.Previous day, husband tried to buy three boxes of Lindor chox for my school reunion. Area manager and store manager both there - and promised huge delivery by 2000 and he could come back then.Went back in the morning...NO boxes of the right size. Slight panic as reunion starting in three hours time! Manager said I could have the big boxes for the price of the smaller ones - which I thought very pro-active and fair of him. He went and got them - and then said that - as it was for a school event - he wasn't gong to charge me at all. I was gob-smacked. Jolly pleased though! (and no, I don't know him at all. Complemented him once on getting rid of the obstructing boxes behind the tills but no other contact)

If u r on twitter @ Morrisons and complain.  My eldests did re no garlic on her garlic bread she'd bought. ..and got a £10 voucher in the post.

The main problem with Morrisons is the management.Ask yourself - why do so many people shop elsewhere?The café is always dirty, the shelves untidy, the staff uniforms/attitude needs to be looked at, I could go on -but compare this shop with Sainsburys in Churchfield Road.

I think I probably shop at Morrisons about once or twice a year - it's just too depressing and stressful a place and their range of cheese is dreadful!  The rest of the time, I tend to shop at Hakikat, the health food store on Market Place, Londis, Churchfield Road Sainsbury's Local and maybe Park + Bridge (coffee) or Waitrose in Chiswick.

The last time I went to Morrisons I needed some fresh mint, ginger and coriander. The display of fresh herbs had been moved to the opposite side of the central aisle, away from the rest of the fruit and veg, so not easy to find. There was a sign above it saying something like "fresh mint £1.29" but there was no mint in stock.So I walked down to the greengrocer's on Market Place and got a bunch of mint, a bunch of coriander and a chunk of ginger, total cost about £1.40. What I find weird is that other branches of Morrisons are quite pleasant. Why do they bring all their worst traits - untidiness, inept stock control, inaccurate price tickets - to Acton?

I have stopped going to Morrisons purely because it is so filthy.  From the car park to the store itself, it is disgusting.  Goodness knows what it's like backstage if front of house is so revolting.

Dee says:- "but compare this shop with Sainsburys in Churchfield Road" - well they also sell out of date items! The shelf life yesterday on many of their fresh items was non - existent. I had to hunt right at the back for some Taramasalata with a date beyond yesterday - or the previous day! Stock control is not their strong point either!To be fair to Morrison's, the quality of their fruit and  vegetables is generally better than Sainsbury's on Churchfield Road. Acton Morrisons does fall very short of the standard of stores 'up north'. I don't know whether it is the general attitude of the staff and management or not, but there must also be an element of lack of guidance from head office and poor delivery. The northern stores have a different distribution depot - perhaps that is better at sending out stock on time.I know from my brother who works for Morrison's in Surrey, that they also experience delivery problems and wrong items being sent. For all their faults, the shop is usually busy, so what would it be like if all those who shop elsewhere decided to shop in Morrisons?
