Does Harriet Moreton exist?

I am beginning to wonder.  I asked for her when I went to the club, to be told it was her day off.  And if you call and ask for her, she is never there.

I am still here and we have always had the same staff on reception. no one has yet left. I have just been on annual leave.

I joined the forum to try and help people. unfortuntly there are things we cant change. We also cant change everything instantly but i can assure everyone that we are considering all requests and making the centre suitable to everyones needs.

I am in facebook and twitter conversation with Precor about them doing something about the sound and programmes on the machines.I would have thought Harriet would be more effective, but who knows?Anyone else want to post to them? @precor and Precor International on fb.Will carry on with the eaaccounts too.

In fairness, she's front of house manager for one branch, not the chief executive! Plus for every request on here, they must get dozens more at reception, on the phone, by email...

Yes, there are a lot of minor complaints being made about comparatively trivial things, which can wait till later. The important thing that needs to be addressed ASAP is people being unable to book for classes because they're full.

Yes Susan I agree, and have said so in every way possible, including leaving feedback today on the computer at the entrance to the centre. But still we are not told what, if anything, is planned in terms of increasing the number of classes. Are the amount of classes under review? When are they likely to increase the number of classes? Its so frustrating not to be able to book anything. Lots of people I know from Virgin have cancelled their membership and gone back to Virgin just because they cannot book anything. I am seriously considering my options.

That's most important for you Susan - you go to classes - for me Radio 4 on the machines and a water machine that works properly in the gym trumps every time. For others it will be coathooks and mirrors. All major/all are minor depending on your point of view and priorities.

The classes timetable is reviewed every quater. The next review date is early to mid july.

I'm mostly able to get into the classes I want, Sara, by booking a week ahead. I was trying to take an overview of what is most important, not a personal one. So many people are complaining that they can't get into any of the classes they want. You have to admit that a coat hook is a minor problem, surely.

Can I urge you to review them earlier than that? It is a new club, so surely a review sooner rather than later is in order? Especially if you are losing members because they can't book classes?

Sorry, Susan, but your problem is not more or less important than the others.  "Coat hooks" is a bit disingenuous.  There is nowhere to hang a towel when you shower.  That is a simple problem that does not need any IT to fix.  Personally, I have not had a problem with booking online.  You just can't book more than 7 days ahead.  However, it seems that once you've booked, you can't cancel online so this means that Sara's previous great suggestion about 3 strikes and you're out won't work and it also means frustration for members when "full" classes aren't.

I am booking online and, incidentally, cancelling online where need be, so I don't know where you get the idea that this can't be done.I was trying to give some perspective to the gravity of the problems that people were identifying, not make out that only my own mattered, as you would have realised, if you had read my last post properly.

BBC Radio stations now available on TWO of the gym machines: one treadmill and one bike - the ones adapted for the blind apparently.I was very excited when Harriet told me they would be on some machines by today and all of them really quite soon...Am holding breath but very glad of progress.And there were chaps in looking at the leaking water fountain and muttering "wood or vinyl" to themselves...

Maybe - but there are radio channels on all the machines- only commercial, music ones like Kiss and Absolute which don't play to this gym's demographic at all.

The two machines that have ANY BBC Radio seem to have all the national networks I think - didn't check 4 extra etc though.But only two machines so far - we live in hope!

If one had a choice, I'd prefer BBC Radio 4 or Radio 5 Live.

Me too, Gerry, but there are people who can work up a lather to radio 3.... Anyhow, it seems to be all (twice) or nothing (all the rest) but Harriet says that should change soon.
