We have and wait and see what's with the Judicial Review of the process. Not much can happen before that.

I ask because the equally (more?!) dubious Hanson Cement Plant Planning Committee Decision could undoubtedly be reversed with a Judicial Review.

I just looked at the site as Charlie suggested and can't find anything about the JR.  Charlie, if you're reading this, please can you pm me direct and let me know when it was issued, etc.  I thought there were strict time limits to JR and am delighted you surmounted that obstacle.

It should be there Anne - highlighted in second para. But final submission to judge was only this Monday so needs updating. Aware of the public nature of the forum so there is some stuff re funding etc that probably isn't best discussed here!

But some pledges of financial support might be really welcome... Again, people may not want to make them publicly - but I imagine Charlie would love some direct messages from forum posters and readers.

Probably fair to say that there are far more owner/occupiers in The Oaks area who also have deeper pockets than the individuals living nearby to the Hanson Concrete Plant.Justice for all regardless of "status" - and we have a  "Representing the Working Persons" Labour Council!!!Please Personal Message me Charlie regarding any Judicial Review funding "wrinkles" - I think my validity & credentials are well known on this site!

I can only presume that the judicial review is being funded on a no win/no fee arrangement which means the organisation would not have to pay their own solicitors if they lose and will only be exposed to the other side's costs.  It is possible to apply for a costs capping order in the case of environmental JRs so this must be what has happened here. I do know that the solicitors instructed are one of the go to firms for this type of work, and of course the hope is that the application succeeds.  Pledges are being requested for a fighting fund in the (hopefully unlikely) event of a defeat at JR.  Please contact the organisers if you would like to contribute.  The doubters should remember that nobody is opposed to a good development, but the one approved will have a detrimental effect and could be so much better.
