The 266 is a different matter - with the route too long and too many bottlenecks along the way, there is bound to be an unreliable service.What really does concern me as a cyclist is the total chaos around Horn Lane and the Uxbridge Road, aggressive drivers that have been sitting in a jam forever, totally ridiculous and idiotic tiny stretches of cycling paths that invite people to park on them (outside Amigos', for example) or that invite headphone-wearing predestrians who seem to have lost any sense of road awareness (see those elsewhere, too...) to pretty much beg me to injure them or worse. It is chaos already - total chaos, and it can only get worse with the proposed Oaks scheme - not even thinking of the endless construction work nightmare, more dwellings and shops mean more traffic in the long run... Where are green ideas like the ones they promote on the continent? Yes, there is going to be this new housing development here, but you can only move in if you sign a contract that you won't get a car, full stop. Developers still sell those properties like hotcakes in high demand areas - it just makes people reconsider the way they live, making some of them, who go for this kind of thing and change their habits (and who, most likely, otherwise would not even have thought about it) while others can still opt for the more 'traditional' options by moving into existing housing stock.
