stray cat

We've been noticing that some cat has been entering our house at dawn recently, and of course blamed Mortimer our ex cat who has been living in luxury with friends in Accacia Road since he left home. The culprit turns out to be a large brown striped tabby, clearly living in Namoure or Accacia Roads, possibly  in Horn Lane. Is this your cat? or a cat belonging to a neighbours? I don't mind feeding it but it must be stopped from peeing on our curtains.

Maire - sounds as though he's an unneutered stray.  Have you phoned Goddards in Horn Lane in case they know of him?  Might also be worth calling Cats Protection Lost and Found line on 020 84231403.

Thanks Nina. Let the search begin. For the usual reasons I doubt this cat has seen much of the vet.

Cat was strolling along Cumberland Road last evening as I was returning home. When it saw me it sensibly hid under a car. My cat loving friends say they have often seen it in their garden on  Acacia Road and that it looks brushed to them. Food bowl empty again this morning. Must I get a new cat door which only allows my cat through? Any other suggestions?

Maire, I think it is possible to get a cat flap which links to a special magnetic-type collar that only opens for your cat (the cat wearing the collar).  Much easier, perhaps, to simply close the flap at night, which is what our neighbour does to keep out unwanted visitors.
