Video Message of support from Boris for Acton Charity
To mark 25 years since Acton Homeless Concern was founded, we're holding a special fund raising event and grand raffle. We're delighted that London Mayor Boris Johnson has sent us a special message of support in a video. He's praised the work of Acton Homeless Concern in Berrymead Gardens for the help it gives to the neediest in society. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of organisations and individuals, the event has already raised thousands of pounds - some of it through a raffle with the top prize of a £1000 Westfield shopping centre voucher. Tickets will still be on sale on Saturday (June 7th) at Acton Market if you'd like to show your support. The charity is on a roll at the moment because as well as marking 25 years, its manager Ian Breen, last month scooped the top prize in the Gazette's Pride In Our People awards. There's more information at www.actonhomelessconcern.orgPeter Robertson, Trustee
