Catalytic converters stolen for precious metals

Hi EverybodyI would like to make you aware that in recent weeks there is a gang that is targeting Toyota Prius' and Honda CR-V' in the streets off Horn Lane. They remove the catalytic converter located in the exhaust system under the vehicle  because of the high value of the precious metals they contain. I suggest you keep a sharp eye on your car especially at night. Alternatively go to a local garage to weld some metal on the exhaust to reduce the risk of theft of your car's catalytic converter. I was targeted a week ago and It cost me more that £2000 to repair! I'm in contact with Adrian, a mechanic from G N P AUTOCARE in Acton. He is developing a way to protect catalytic converters from theft.

Bolo Brook - consultation for new park

This project is part of the wider South Acton development plan which includes the development of four other parks in the area, each with a specific theme. The park being proposed for the Bollo Brook open space would be themed around fitness, health and wellbeing. Empty shop on Churchfield Road no longer (hopefully) empty!

I was speaking with a neighbour, who informed me that the empty retail unit on Churchfield Road - next to the late night grocers - is to become a unisex hairdressers.  Well, at least it isn't another coffee shop/estate agent!

Piccadilly Line Strike yet Again!

Fenella Fielding, the sexiest voice ever.

I've just heard the sad news that the actress Fenella Fielding, who lived in Chiswick, has past away at the age of 90. One of the most powerful memories in my whole life is hearing her on Hancock's Half Hour saying the immortal words "What an intriguing little savage you are" to Bill Kerr. In my fantasies I like to think she was saying it to me,even though I was'nt even born then. Why do posh women with husky voices sound so sexy? Oh well, I least I still have Joanna Lumley.

Acton Old Town Hall Clock

The clock has been broken for as long as I can remember, at least 7 years.Whilst the rest of the building has been spruced up, redeveloped and generally given a new lease of life, the most prominent part that can be seen from across the borough has been neglected.The scaffolding for the most recent phase, the development of the new flats, has started to come down and there's no indication the clock will be cleaned or repaired, which seems a shame.I've tried contacting the local council member and the main companies involved Kingsbury Group and Housing Solutions. No replies.Anyone know who at the council is responsible for the building?

TFL Changing 440 Bus Route to New 218 Route - Bad News for West Acton Residents

It was pretty obvious that TFL was going to ignore the public consultation feedback from local residents. Bad news for West Acton residents who shop at Asda or surrounding shops carrying multiple/heavy bags. Especially worse for the elderly.27 per cent support or strongly support12 per cent oppose or strongly opposeTFL's response to issues raised;440: Concern that rerouting away from West Acton will make travelling more difficult for elderly and less mobile passengers. There would be a need for some passengers travelling from West Acton area to change at Acton High Street or North Acton to continue their journeys.Passengers with mobility issues may find this more difficult. However, customers will be able to change buses without having to change stop, and all of our buses and the majority of our bus stops are accessible. Also, new route 218 would run at a higher frequency on all days of the week via West Acton meaning less waiting time for a bus service to the nearest town centre at Acton High Street. It would offer a new link to Hammersmith town centre as well.New 218 route details;New route 218 will run between North Acton and Hammersmith via West Acton, Acton High Street and Askew Road using single-deck buses. However, it will run every 12 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes rather than every 10 minutes and every 20 minutes during Sundays and evenings rather than every 15 minutes.

Local scam artist

A man knocked on our door today and offered to take away some rubbish in our front garden. He hauled it all out onto the pavement and we paid him. He then said he was going to get his van and never came back. If this man knocks on your door - don't answer it!Description of person involved – Hair: White hair, dark eyebrows, Top: blue jacket, white shirt, Age: 50-60, Ethnicity: White, Sex: Male. Energy boost on Monday 10th

Energy Therapists will be at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, W4 1UD on Monday, 10th September, between 11am and 1pm (last session 12.45).  The session takes about 15-20 minutes and I am sure that you will feel really good at the end of that time, with lots of vital energy to enable you to enjoy the rest of your week!  A number of therapists come in each month and give their services free.  The Vihara kindly allow us to use the hall at no charge so a donation is most welcome as this enables us to give all donations to the Vihara.These sessions are not related to any religion, everyone is welcome.

Tim - English Bucher - Churchfield Road.

Saw this Post on line. Be good if we could all support him.GREAT NEWS I have just been to see Tim and he has been given a 3 month extension on his rent so he is going to battle on and try and make it work. He will be working on his own though so will still need time off occasionally so be patient with him. The parking issue still remains a huge issue as he cannot survive on only those people who live within easy walking distance.
