Illegal outbuilding Friars Gardens

Hi all and Merry Christmas to you.I've informed the Council about an illegal outbuilding which is being used to house a family, although it got planning permission earlier this year as a "gymnasium" at the rear of the house, behind the double garage doors.  Astonishingly, the Council don't think there's a problem as they seem to have gone to the wrong house!  They now say the gym got permission, so there's not a problem, but clearly there is!  Any advice please?  The fallout from the illegal building is fly-tipping and refuse dumped on the pavement (not always on the correct day, of course!)A peaceful 2014 to you.

Consultation on  new Overground Station at Old Oak

We received a consultation leaflet from Boris on the Tfl/ Mayoral proposal of a creating a new station to intersect with HS2 and Crossrail. Does anyone have any strong views on this or think it would actually happen? It is hard to know whether it is a good/ bad idea?

Lack of refuse collection.  Again. 

It's getting mighty boring and so predictable.  Things have been heading South for some time with Ealing Council and its commitment to keep its taxpayers happy and keep our streets clean.Today our street and the surrounding streets were not attended to by the refuse collectors.  No doubt it'll look like a third world country by the morning, with the foxes and rats.  I called the number I was given, but the number isn't in service, it seems.  I can feel a Filthy Acton thread coming on again anytime soon.

No Overground service at all on any October weekendin

This seems an excessive withdrawal of service through Acton Central.From tfl's website it would seem there are NO TRAINS at all until the end of October at weekends.Isn't that a bit much?

tree cut  down  on  our  street why

a lovely tree  was  cut  down last week  on  our  road no  notice left on  thursday  came this  morning  only  a 1 mtr  stump so so  sad spoke to  my  neighbours   they  were non  the  wiser

illegal outbuildings in Acton

I thought I'd start a new thread for everyone who notices 'gyms' or 'garages with Windows' being built in a back garden near you. Angela's problems in communicating with Outhouses and Planning Enforcement are sadly not unusual. Sara think she spotted another, and a local person has drawn my attention to three houses in St Dunstans avenue. Google earth pics to follow. Anyone else? It is easy enough to check whether planning permission has been granted by looking at the Council planning website. It would be very interesting to make a list of possible illegal backyard developments in Acton so we can see what is being done. Perhaps we might ask the Head of Outhouses to attend a meeting ?

Missing grey cat

My big fluffy grey cat went missing yesterday, 30 September, from Goldsmith Avenue. She is 15 years old and has never stayed out over night before. She is micro-chipped. Has anyone seen her?

A gorgeous young smokey brown/grey tabby cat has been living in my garden just off Askew Road (W12) for a week. Anyone lost/missing him? Sadly he's not wearing a collar and is not chipped.

Roofer Recommendation?

Hi folks, Have a leak in my roof and need to have it looked at but wary of being ripped off by carrying out unnecessary work and spending more than it needs.One person has already looked at it ad not managed to fix it- so it might be a tricky one- seems to be coming in via a chimney that was block up a few years ago- started as a small amount and now has progressed to being more of a problem.Only wet patches on the ceiling but I reckon a few heavy rains and it might start dripping.Any recommendations?Cheers.
