Beaver and Cub Scouts wanted

Trick or Treat

A friend of mine in Larden Road, W3, had eggs smashed all over her front windows, glass, paintwork, windowsill, walls, as she did  not open the door to the 'trick or treaters' last week. She happened to be in hospital where her father is dying. She stays with him all night. I can't image how she felt coming back exhausted and finding that mess.And would it have been safe if she had been there, to open the door to such vile, despicable children?

Website front end developer needed asap!

The main consideration is someone who has a good eye for design as well as build. Happy with a well themed wordpress site. Repair and refurbishment of the bridge between Perryn Road and Goldsmith

A cat has wondered into our home. No collar but seems like a well fed loving cat. Please describe him if you think he is yours. Not quite an adult cat it seems but I could be wrong

Morrisons self service machines

What the hell is wrong with the self service machines in Morrisons. This morning I was waiting in line with my basket for 15 minutes because the machines kept breaking down. It happened so often that the staff were running around like crazy and could'nt keep up with the demand for help. It's never this bad at the other supermarket outlets,so why are Morrisons so bad? On the funny side as I was leaving I saw Angie Bray pimping herself out at the front of the store.Almost worth the wait.

Cat feeders over Christmas

Dear Actonians,This is my first post here, as we're relatively new to the area. I'm hoping that a lovely forum member might be able to recommend a reliable cat feeder who will be able to feed our puss for a few days over Christmas. We live in York Road off Horn LaneWe've thought about putting her in a cattery, but I think she'd be far happier in her own environment as long as she's getting fed. We've contemplated getting an automatic cat feeder, but if it were to break whilst we're away....Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Our provisional dates are 23 December away, returning December 27th, but would happily tweak these to fit in with a reliable feeder.Many thanks in anticipation,David

thefts from L&Q Acton Gardens development.

Hi there,I would be interested to hear from anyone who lives in the new Acton Gardens development on Bollo Bridge Road about any incidents of bike thefts (or indeed any other theft).I have now had two bikes nicked from inside the ostensibly "secure" bike stores, and I believe I have found some systemic weaknesses with the building security which I would like to discuss with L&Q - assuming they deign to return my calls. I understand there have been other thefts of bikes from the development as well.The Police told me that they may treat these as burglary rather than simple theft, because it requires the perp to gain access to somewhere they didn't have permission to enter, or the use of force to enter.They also mentioned that they have little information on thefts from this development, possibly because people are not reporting them. If you've had anything pilfered, I would encourage you to take the time to report it - yes, it's inconvenient going to the Police station and L&Q offices - but if no-one reports these incidents the Police won't be able to take any action, and nothing will get done.I would be very interested to hear people's views - thanks for your time.Jon.

Sky? Virgin? BT?

Our Sky box has stopped working. Since the only way they will supply us with a new one is if we upgrade our package, I would love feedback from anyone who has experiences - good or bad - with other media suppliers or whatever they are called. We are with Virgin for our broadband, so could switch to them - or BT. We want a basic package plus Sports.
