Pensioners Christmas Party thank you

I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to John and all his wonderful staff for making Christmas Day so special for 60 people. This is our third year holding Pensioner Alone at Christmas (Chiswick) party at the Goldsmiths Arms. The welcome was great, the stafff worked hard the food was wonderful, everyone was well organised and a great atmosphere. With lots of love from all of us you looked after. x

Washing machine disaster

Does anyone know if the laundrette on Churchfield rd is open today? Highly doubt it but my machine has just packed up with most of sons clothes inside and he goes back to uni in the morning., so need to get it all rinsed and dried. Thanks

Thanks to My Chiropodist

When Ellie at Pro-Hans said the mess I had made of my feet was beyond her and I had to go to a chiropodist in the next 24 hours, I thought this might be tricky...a few days before xmas and all.But I asked the chaps who look at the CCA email group and four of them recommended Rikki at My Chiropodist on the Vale...So I rolled up, he saw me an hour later, applied A LOT of local anaesthetic and sorted me out.No more pain, he checked it a couple of days later and now all I am missing is festive glittery nail varnish.Thanks team!

Stuck for a Christmas present idea?

Just been to Anthony Bell hairdressers in Churchfield Road and bought one of the recipe books Derwentwater School Parents' Association have published.  It's £7.50 and inside there's a £10 money off voucher for Anthony Bell to boot.  Great incentive!  There are lots of good looking recipes.  What a great idea - well done to the parents' association.  It's going into my husband's Christmas stocking.

Sealy Posturepedic super king sized bed  - free to anyone who wants it.   Mattress showing some wear (no nudge nudge wink wink jokes please) but has years of life left.  Sprung base is in two halves  - i.e. effectively two single bed bases, with castors.205cm (81 inches) long by 180cm (71 inches) wide.Available for inspection this afternoon/evening, collection tomorrow 9am-5pm. Acton in graphic art

My name is Natalia; I’m living and working in Minsk (Belarus). I have been in London several times and made a lot of drawings inspired by the city, but I never had visited Acton. But (thanks to google street view service) I made virtual travel around the district and totally fall in love with it! What I love particularly is its “town within the town” look and atmosphere. I’ll visit Acton for sure next time I’m in London, but meanwhile I made ten graphic images of several Acton sights. And I’d like to share them with the community. Boxing Day parking question

Cannot find the answer to this simple question:  Do visitor parking restrictions apply in Acton/Ealing on Boxing Day?  I need to know as we'll have guests staying overnight on Christmas Day and would like them to stay until after lunch on Boxing Day.I can't find this info. on the Council's website and would be most grateful if anyoe here knows the answer.

TV Aerial repair

Last night I stopped getting pictures on the TV on some channels.  There appears to be water coming in through the aerial connection - not on the outside of the cable but through the middle of the cable.   Ours is a 3 story house so work on the aerial could be cumbersome.  Anyone got any recommendations for someone to come and solve the problem?
