Handyman recommendation

Hi, can anyone recommend a handyman who can do odd jobs. I have had things in my to do list for ages and think I should just get someone to do them!  Thanks

Pinto Thai Kitchen closing (sob)

From their Facebook page: It has been more than 8 years since Pinto has been established in Acton in September 2008.As a family run business, we have built up and grown little by little together with some changes in Acton over a period of time. We are very happily blessed with our truly lovely customers. Many have been with us since we started the restaurant.Sadly, our restaurant is closing down in 2 weeks time (before end of February 2017) due to the building redevelopment.We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and help. new greek place in Churchfield Rd

It was disappointing today being in new Greek cafe next to Vindinista bar. The food was overpriced and horrible (microwaved rice and tinned vegetables.Not at all honest Mediterranean fresh food. Shame as I love supporting local businesses.Not ever going there again.

Yes, we know London is polluted and vying with Beijing for the top spot..therefore, I am at loss why Ealing Council Planning, allow new builds to retrospectively apply for Wood Burning Stoves...Yes, nothing like some SMOG to make things better.Honestly, its crazy, that wood-burning stoves are all the rage, just like Asthma and Respiratory Diseases..The builder added them after the job was approved, and the weedy Planners just asked for a retrospective planning application to approve it..Great Work Council - You must Proud

CCA request meeting with Ealing's CEO re waste management

Copy of email sent today:Dear Mr NajsarekI am the Chair of the Churchfield Community Association which is the Community Association for central Acton residents generally north of the Uxbridge Road. We have over 200 members. See our website here :  http://www.churchfield.org/ I am writing to ask if you will organise an immediate meeting between residents and the Officers responsible for waste management and street cleaning in our part of the Borough.From the numerous complaints we are told that are being received by the Council, the conversations on social media and the Acton W3 website and the appeals to local Councillors, you will be well aware of widespread dissatisfaction with the state of our streets. I need not tell you of the unswept gutters, the fly tipping and casual dumping, the flies and rats attracted to the waste or the apparent shambles of implementation of the wheely bin policy where some residents waited weeks before the bins were delivered. I myself waited 8 weeks after the given deadline.Earlier this year, Lorien Nash met with Doug Carnegie and Maire Lowe, two local residents. She listened politely to their concerns and suggestions. One issue raised was implemented. After that there were no further replies to their correspondence and Acton streets have grown filthier. This is why we appeal to you. Residents are angry and think they are being ignored.Will you make our filthy streets a priority? Will you meet with residents yourself to set a model for Officers?. Naturally we will insist on proper courtesy and good manners from our residents.I look forward to hearing from you

Plumber wanted - new pipes

Hi, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced plumber to replace some pipes and fit new sink / both now very old and pipes leaking. Already called MPE but they are apparently too busy. Thanks in advance

Ealimg Council Garden collection Charges

Just received my notifications from Ealing  council that I will be charged for 16 / 17 and 17/ 18 in April 17 How come a Direct Debit was not initiated at the time in 2016 as it was supposed to be ! If they failed to collect  in April 2016 this is not my problem and do not want to pay such .

ANY RECOMMENDATION FOR A ROOFER?

We need our roof to be checked over and assessed.  It has lots of moss on it and look dipped her the chimney breast, also the guttering might need to be checked and cleaned.  Does anyone know of a reliable roofer who does not overcharge and who knows their stuff?

enormous black pole on Gunnersbury lane

Does anyone know anything about the extraordinarily ugly and huge black pole that has suddenly appeared in Gunnersbury Lane on the pavement outside Heathfield Nature park.  There has been no local consultation even though it totally dominates the view.  There are two covered boxes on either side.  What is it? And which official body is responsible for putting it there?

Free clean brick hard core, collection Acton Central 1st March

Good clean brick hard core. Approx 1 tonne. We are taking down our front wall this Wed 1st March 2017. You must be able to collect it from Acton Central W3 in your own vehicle within a few days please. Pictures available on request.

Guest parking in a CPZ - help please

1. Our zone has restricted parking for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.  The vouchers are for three hours, so can we use one voucher for both am and pm or do we have to use a second voucher in the afternoon?and 2. We will soon have to pay for parking by phone.  We will have builders working whilst we are away, how do we pay by phone if not in the country?I have looked on the LBE website for this information and it is not available.  Also unable to speak to anyone by phone, you have to leave a message and they will call back in three days? If LBE are not able to speak to you directly they should at least have an FAQ page.

Missing cat

Our cat Olivia has gone missing. She is a lovely tabby only a year old. She is very affectionate and sweet natured. She loves crawling under flooorboards and climbing in boxes so we're worried she's trapped somewhere. We live in chaucer Road.  Please look out for her. Jo
