West London Ball Hockey Kids Club for Girls & Boys age 5-14years have this Saturday, April the 28th morning 09:45, a special guest appearance at; Elthorne Sports Centre. Address: Westlea Road, Off Boston Road, Hanwell. Postcode: W7 2AD.. She will speak to the children about ball/street hockey and give them some tips on how to improve in ball/street hockey and how far they can go in this sport, which is played, "with trainers not roller skates".  She will also suit up as a goalie and play with children. Chelsea was also the goalie on the winning team at the annual Canada Day's ball/street hockey tournament 2011 at Trafalgar square London.  It will be great to see any of you with children and friends behind Elthone sports centre, on Saturday morning to meet Chelsea.  You can also ask her questions regarding ball/street hockey in relation to the physical and mental development of you child.  Invite as many children/friends as you like. Gas Works

Into our third week on Goldsmith Road. Can't blame the guys doing it as they are just doing their jobs but it's REALLY disruptive. Just had the bloke in to pull through the new gas pipe (yes they do literally pull the new pipes through into your house) and my house now covered in thick sticky black soot. It's everywhere. The guy doing is gave such a yank on the plastic tube he took out the ceiling pendent lamp in the process. Oh well, at least I'm not having the front porch dug up. It would be comical if it wasn't so messy, annoying and NOISEY!

Garden waste

Sorry for raising this again, but you really couldn't make this up. I have returned home today to find a letter through my door from Ealing Council. It thanks me for subscribing to the new garden waste service and then someone has written (by hand) that my re-usable garden waste sack has been left with number xx.Two things:I have not subscribed to this serviceThe number that the bag has (allegedly) been left at, is actually my own addressNeedless to say, no bag is anywhere to be found.

street  cleaned  last  week  but  left  the  green  rubbish  bags

no  one  collected  the bags  after last week  sweep clean and  it  was  not  a good  one  either so  far  nothing  this  week  we  had  our rubbish   collection on  tuesday ALL went  into  the big geen lorry

digital tv

I am thinking of having SKY installed but have reservations as I have just had my house plastered and don’t want the engineer trailing leads all over the place. I wondered if anyone had any advice about a gadget such as a wireless magic eye so that I can tuck the sky box away neatly  at the back of my property(read invisibly) in another room at the front.  Any suggestions for brands, installation or reliability gratefully welcome??Thank you all.

St Mary's Cemetery - Acton ,Ealing

Old discs contain sensitive data

The BBC reports that about half of the computer discs bought second hand contained data, and over 1 in 10 carried significant amounts of sensitive personal data. I assume that any old disc will have sectors that contain both clean original data and corrupted data due to a computer crash, so I zero the first few sectors which carry the Master Boot Record and then re-format using software that writes then reads a series of test patterns over the entire disc, overwriting every bit three or four times before leaving the disc clean apart from some new formatting data. It takes time, but all errors are reported. I can supply the free software that I use, together with simple instructions, if anyone wishes to securely wipe a disc before re-use.

I found a fabulous violin for my youngest via the forum so I thought I would ask if anyone out there has a classical guitar that their child has outgrown and they would be willing to part with. The opportunity of lessons has come up unexpectedly having been on a seemingly endless waiting list, starting with a trial class this Saturday, just need a guitar! Many thanks.

Beaver scouts wanted

Police car on the Mount

This is the first time I have witnessed this happening today.Police car with siren on cut across The Mount. Thought at first there was a problem at the Post Office or at Morrisons. Actually whizzed passed them to continue travelling on the High Street.  Obviously an emergency is an emergency but to cut across there with shoppers, kids etc. just thought it was too dangerous.

5 tickets for Educating Rita + dinner Wednesday 25th April

We were due to in a family party to my favourite theatre - the Meunier Chocolate Factory - to see the new production of Educating Rita starring Matthew Kelly and Claire Sweeney. Tickets are £37 each which includes a two-course "meal-deal" before the show in the Meurnier's rather good and cool restaurant.But we have had a rather sudden family bereavement and the funeral is that day so we can no longer use the tickets.Would anyone like to take them off me at cost?
