help please  the census  coverage survey

a friend  has got  one  these leaflets  through  the  door  it  says  advance notifcation the  interviewer will conduct a short interview to  check  that  every household member  has been included in the census. they  have sent back  the  form long  time ago  the  only  promlem  is  that the  lady has mental health  promlem  and  does  not  go  to  the  door tried  phoneing  them but was on  5 mins before it  went dead  anyone  else get  this  leaflet

How long for a parking appeal?

1st Feb. Received a PCN for letting my resident's parking disc slip out of easy view. 11th Feb. Hand delivered appeal to Percival House. (online appeal system not working)  Spotted a notice saying that appeals could take 30 days.28th March. Having had neither a rejection nor waiver, nor a Notice to Owner, wondering what the heck is going on. Logged in with PCN number and it's still live but still paused at the discounted stage. So presumably someone has put the appeal in the system but no decision has been taken.Could someone with any experience of appealing a PCN give me a clue how long it REALLY takes?

SPRING FLING

On Sunday 22 May, from 11am to 6pm, there will be a lot of fun at 59 Emlyn Road, London W12 9TG.   As well as an opportunity to see the rather special garden, there will be work by over 25 artists, bric-a-brac stalls, a raffle and a fantastic eclectic mix of international musicians.   Turkish, Greek, Serbia;  there is even a rumour that some madrigals singers are coming all the way from Acton.   All this is in aid of InterAct Reading Service - a charity which provides professional actors to read to stroke patients, live and interactive, in hospitals and in stroke clubs.   You can find out more on http://www.springfling.isendyouthis.com.It would be lovely to see you!

Just really glad that we have 9am til 9pm controlled parking in our corner of the borough. Last time they were in the top division parking could be difficult when they were at home.............

Streetwise camera

Has anybody noticed several " Streetwise Camera" alongside Churchfield Road ,Market Place , High street appearing in the last few days ?Apart from the obvious , do we know more about it ? A new initiative ?They certainly do not look very attractive the way hey are installed ( Tall mast attached to railing or lamp post)

Alternative Vote

I can see both sides of the argument but after careful thought have decided to vote in favour of the Alternative Vote. It just doesn't seem right that someone can be elected MP with just 35% of the vote or less. It doesn't seem right that a government (as in 2005) can have a majority with only 36% of the national vote. Personally I would prefer the French 2 round voting system which would allow for alliances to be formed and presented to the public before the final round of voting. But what's on offer seems to me to be an improvement on what we have now. It will increase the number of marginal consituencies, reduce safe seats where the incumbents seem to feel they have a job for life. Most of all it means people can give their first choice to the person they really want instead of thinking "there's no point wasting my vote" which is what happens at present

Dreadful news about the 60 year old academic in the recent drugs case.He must have felt so awful - both about the girl who died and what it has done to his and his family's life.Nearly a really tragic outcome.I do hope it really is just two broken legs.

Very hot loft question

Hi, I'm hoping someone out there can answer this for me. Our house has a loft conversion which was done before we bought. Its a nice big room but it gets unbearably hot in weather like this, particularly at night. Does anyone know why? I'm guessing it has something to do with insulation, or lack of? but have no idea what the solution is, or indeed if there is one. Can anyone help please? Thank you.
