Incident near the Redback?

Don't know when it started, but about 20 minutes ago, the High Street was taped off by the police from the police station up to a little beyond the Redback. There didn't seem to be much activity inside the cordon. I didn't get a good look as I was turning up into Steyne Road and couldn't stop. What gives?

Peeping Tom or Opportunist?

Late last night someone was peering through our front window.I've left a message for our Safer Neighbourhood Team about this - assume since no one called me back they are off today. They are usually pretty good.This was around midnight last night. Someone (no description beyond that he was wearing a hoody) climbed onto the window sill of our front window and was peering through the venetian blinds. We have adjusted them now to make it impossible to see in. He scarpered as soon as he saw there was someone inside.We live on Goldsmith Avenue. Please be vigilant and make sure everything is locked. Also if you notice anything untoward please let the SNT know (020 8721 2821) or if anyone thinks we should have used the 0300 number please let me know.

Sea Angling

A couple of us over in W4 are looking for more sea anglers in west London, anyone in Acton interested? we have arranged a trip down to Brighton Marina for this weekend to fill the freezer with Mackerel (hopefully) come on get up off your backsides.Sea angling is a relatively inexpensive sport open to men and women young and old.

Noticed a Planning Permission sign in the window of the Empty Birthdays Shop this morning. It's going to become a Bingo place. Objections I think are required by 18 Jan 11.Will try and go on the Ealing Council Website later to find the application.We are going to be like Las Vegas at this rate.

Ealing Common Sunday 29th Fundraiser for Japan Earthquake Relief

On Sunday 29th May, Creative Campus, an arts NGO, will attempt to break a Guinness World Record to produce the largest painting made by footprints, whilst raising funds for the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund. The fundraising event will take place at Ealing Common, in West London. India’s inspiring and upcoming artist, Jignesh Patel, will stencil out the artwork and invite members of the public to come and foot press on the canvas to create a finished piece of work. All the monies raised will be donated directly to the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund. Other highlights of the day are: Workshops: Therapy zone, Food, Music, Face painting. Churchfield Road/Acton Central level crossing closed

Don't know if it still is, but dad's just told me the level crossing on Churchfield Road level crossing is closed as some moron decided to drive through the barriers earlier. Reports on Twitter of "damage to the level crossing" confirm this - not been down to see for myself though. CCTV footage from the crossing should be interesting to see!
