Acton Computers
I'm here to eat both my hat and a helping of humble pie. I once had a bad experience at Acton Computers (which I won't go into here) and have since harboured some wariness, but last year when the stereo jack on my laptop broke (I was stupid, basically) I took it into them. They fixed it fairly swiftly, but I felt the price was a bit steep, even though I have no technical expertise whatsoever, and went away with a working laptop but a bit disgruntled. Last week, it broke again, and I decided to take it somewhere else, somewhere near work, the kind of shiny place where they all wear matching, branded polo shirts. The man there, when I described what had been done to it before, not only expressed surprise and admiration that it had lasted so long, but also that it had been done so cheaply AND that they had actually fitted a whole new part in. He couldn't praise them highly enough for all of this, and he's the one who should know. So, I swallow my disgruntlement and post this just to say: Acton Computers are an excellent place for your technical repairs, an asset to the high street, and the man in the branded polo shirt gives his seal of approval.
