We took the nine year old great nephew from Australia to hear Ray Gelato on Sunday evening.  He is now desperate to see another live concert (not classical) before his return.Anyone kow of any live music in the parks?

So I bet you will be able to find one if you do need one.  :)

Consultation. Grafton Rd one-way system?

The consultation forms are out concerning the one-way system, with three options.(1) Passing Bays.(2) One-way, with the removal of the gates (Cumberland) Acacia Ave, Crane Ave.(3) No Action.I recall Sara asking for a full consultation, covering the whole area. How many households have received the form and drawings, along with the pros and cons?The plans have errors, in that there is an extra disabled bay outside 23 Grafton, which was removed last year.As far as I see it, passing bays are NOT an option, as the road is to narrow for two cars to pass and, removing parking bays outsid Nos 19 and 21 will not resolve the problem.  Further shortening parking bays outside No 48 and York House seems ludicrous.  We will still have stand off's, swearing and the refusal to reverse into a gap. So now we are back to the original proposal which was elected for but, shelved, due to budget cuts, (council excuse.)  One way from Messaline Ave going west to Horn Lane, with the removal of the access gates on Acacia Ave, Crane Ave allowing access to Baldwyn Gdns and Goldsmiths Ave.Access from Emmanuel to Messaline going east to Baldwyn and Goldsmiths will stay as is.  Not sure why they would remove a stop and shop bay on the corner of Grafton Rd/Horn Ln, unless it's to stop free loaders, but there again there are several outside the shops on Horn Ln.As for no action, it's a no brainer.Please select OPTION 2. and let us Graftoners have a quiet life.

... TO BEAT BLOOD CANCER On 1 April 2010, my son Jake was diagnosed with leukaemia. He was 20 years old. And suddenly the world went very dark indeed.    Even though he’s now in remission, 30,000 people every year in the UK get the same heart-stopping news. And go to that same dark place. That’s one person every 17 minutes. And I simply can’t just stand by and let that happen without trying to do something about it.  For the last two years, I’ve ridden the 52-mile London Bikeathon to raise as much money as possible for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. In that time, some amazingly generous people have helped me raise more than £4,500.  But knowing the nightmare that engulfed my boy for so long – and the dreadful pain he endured while he fought both the illness and the effects of the treatment – means that I can do nothing less than continue to ride against this truly awful disease. And this year I’m going the extra mile – well an extra 23 miles actually – by taking on the 75-mile Box Hill Endurance challenge. It takes place on 16 September and includes part of the Olympic cycling route. And Box Hill. Overnight car parking

Hello to all users:)I am a new resident in the community, at newly built West Central at the corner of Gunnersbury and Uxbridge Road. I had assumed that I would be eligible to apply for a local residential parking permit, but to my horror after happily purchasing a car, I found this was not the case, and my flat was not eligible.Now my question is do you good folks know of any close by areas where cars can be parked for free?

National Grid

I'm still not entirely sure what they're doing on Cumberland Road. A lot of the road has been dug up, and they've been in and out of the flat all day, saying they're going to move the gas meter but not really explaining what's going on - they've asked me to stay in which is a bit annoying on my first day off in fourteen - got a feeling it will spill over into tomorrow as well.Any ideas? Asking them directly hasn't really made it any clearer.

Repair of small electrical appliances

We have an old Morphy Richards sandwich maker/grill that has failed after long and faithful service. There used to be a couple of shops on Churchfield Road that did repairs but these have now long gone. I have been round all the little electrical repair shops in the area that I got off the internet but found that they were all closed or gone away.Does anyone know where I can get small electrical appliances repaired? I think that it will be as expensive to repair the Morphy Richards as buying a new one, but after such faithful service I would like to give it one more chance!Thanks

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say a very special thank you to everyone.  The people of Acton came out to watch me carry the Olympic flame and made the whole experience for me a memorable one.  It was just so fantastic to see so many children, neighbors, residents and members of Our Lady Of Lourdes church there to support me. I am just so honoured.  Thank you, thank you.   A day I will never forget.

Curtain Maker

We have some fabric already (including lining) and we are looking for a local person to make us a simple curtain that will slide onto a rod for hanging.  We don't need it making for hanging with hooks or eyes...If you're interested or know something please contact me and I'll explain more....not easy to describe this way!

Olympic Relay

So as far as I can tell from the information on the front page, the Olympic flame will not be coming through Acton in any way at all, the closest it will get will be Walpole Park.I am quite peeved about this, as the Uxbridge Road/Acton High Street is the main route from East to West through London.Why is it that Acton never gets anything like this unless it's 2nd rate?That's how I perceive it anyway.

Grrrrrr!!!!  T-Mobile

I am NEVER able to log into my account online. The amount taken from my bank account looks unusually large so want to check bill online (as they don't send paper bills anymore).Cannot log on,  when I assume it is because my username or password may be wrong I use the "tool" and enter my name, telephone number and e-mail and t-mobile's "tool" says I am not recognised when I HAVE HAD AN ACCOUNT WITH T MOBILE for years!!!  This has happened in the past and I speak to T Mobile who assure me that it does work,  regig things their end,  unlock my account........then I try again and it doesn't work!I could not face speaking to them tonight so tried to e-mail my query,  so I click on contact,  then click e-mail link,  what comes up?  twitter and facebook pages a business has no e-mail address contact,  I am meant to post my query on twitter or facebook!!  I always threaten to change to another provider but comparing the different packages is mind numbing.Sorry rant over,  feel marginally better but still cannot log into my account!!!
