Horn Ln Industrial Site...ACTION AT LAST?

From: Gissane, Jacqui M On Behalf Of Douglass, Caroline JSent: 14 August 2013 09:50To: angie.bray.mp@parliament.ukSubject: Horn Lane Acton Update from the Environment Agency Dear Angie Further to our meeting on site, I thought you might appreciate an update on our work in the Acton area. Since we met on 12 July, we have been incorporating the minutes and actions from the meeting into the Horn Lane Intervention Strategy and our Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP). We are now producing a page for our website to inform anyone who is interested in or affected by Horn Lane Industrial Estate. We want to keep people up to date on the work we are doing and also make the Intervention Strategy and our AQAPs more accessible. We will also include information on sites in Neasden, Dock Road and Manor Road.  As soon as this is up and running I will let you know. We have also been talking to the London Borough of Ealing and they have offered to run the local residents’ meeting, which we will attend.  They are planning the first meeting for Thursday 12 September 2013. We continue to regulate the sites and visit weekly.  We also continue to carry out joint visits with LB Ealing Officers on a monthly basis.  As part of our regulation, we met with the operators of Horn Lane Metals and brought them up to date with the dust and particulate issues. We do not consider them to be a significant source, however we have asked them to consider if there are any further measures they can take to reduce any dust on site. I hope this update is useful to you; please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is anything you wish to discuss. Yours sincerely Caroline DouglassArea Manager, North East ThamesEnvironment Agency, South EastApollo Court, Hatfield AL10 9EX
